Albania Old photos- new edit

I have just re-edited my photographs from 2006 trip to Albania, here are some gems ;-)
Bajram Curri in Northern Albanian Alps:
After 1997 the area was wild, wild and lawless .  During those times the town lived mostly from smuggling stolen (from Albanian army) weapons  for UCK (Kosovo Liberation Army)

Bajram Curri is located on the foots of Albanian Alps. They are absolutely stunning.
The images were taken in a remote village of Dragobi

Off Festival, Katowice

Fortunately I am flooded with assignments. For last 1,5 months I have been crossing Poland from one end to another- hence lack of posts.
The photographs below were made during Off festival in Katowice , Poland. The event is absolutely great. The idea is to promote music which is OFF the mainstream.
Here is the link to the 2010 Off festival Katowice edition

Cosplay

Cosplay is an abbreviation of „costume play”. Cosplay fans dress up as specific characters. The characters are typically drawn from japanese fiction books and movies: manga, anime etc. For a real Cosplayer it is dishonour to buy a costume, they spend hundrets of euros and countless hours to create these costumes. The most important thing is to accurately represent the character – it means not only dressing up but also behaving and acting like one.

I shot these Cosplay portraits during annual Japan Day in Dusseldorf, Germany.

RIP LOVE PARADE

It is shocking what happened yesterday during Love Parade in Duisburg. Young people came to well known peaceful event to dance and have some fun... :-(((
I was at Love Parade twice. In Essen and in Dortmund. There were huge crowds (about 1,5 mln people) and I can't really imagine how someone in Duisburg could came up with an idea of openning just one entrance. It was disaster waiting to happen. The people who were responsible for security organization in Duisburg should end up in jail.
The following images are from the last Love Parade that took place in 2008 Dortmund. In 2009 Love Parade was cancelled due to lack of money for proper security...

These images were shot in a very similar tunel to the one where the disaster happened.

The tower

Tower in Dusseldorf, I have much more of this stuff, but I am too lazy to scan'em all :)
Shooting this was more like collecting f#####g stamps than photographing...
This tower is the most recognized piece of architecture in Dussedlorf. I really can't understand why all the photos/postcards/calendars/books/souvenirs sold in the D-city, show only one and always the same view- the tower from the river side.
