The death of Pope John Paul II in his hometown

I have spent three days in the hometown of Pope John Paul II- Wadowice, Poland,  during the time when he was dying. Large crowds of people have gathered on the town’s main square and in the church where JPII was baptized, waiting for the final, bad news to arrive. 

Wadowice is a small town in southern Poland located in the foots of Beskid Maly mountains. Pope John Paul II, known here as Karol Voytyla is the most famous and respected hero. Almost Everyone in Wadowice claims to have some kind of ties to JPII or his family (uncle, best friend of grandma etc…) These days were incredibly tense here. JPII died on 2^nd of April 2005.

The Worst photograph of 2008!!!

The masters can definitely screw things up as well, according to some resources the worst photograph of 2008 was made by Annie Leibowitz for Lavazza calendar.  The pictures are overphotoshopped, the models were shot separately from the background and the final effect looks very artificially.  

I am not fan of pirelli, lavazza etc calendars photography, but this one seems pretty horrible and looks like a bad joke. You can have a look at the hole calendar  HERE , the critique is HERE and HERE

Yesterday I have received three enlargements of my photos that with my girlfriend I ordered two weeks ago. All of them were Lambda prints and the quality of this enlargement is really stunning! The lab did absolutely amazing job, I have sent them 16bit scans with icc profile. This will sound like advertisement but guys- when you need gallery quality prints for reasonable price go for it.
